MotionTrack

Your browser does not support the canvas tag.

Click on an object to see the track in more detail. An object's position in the axes indicate the approximate time and length scale over which the motion occured. For a sense of scale: .

An object's position also tells you about the speed of the object - objects higher up move faster .

About

MotionTrack allows you to explore the motion paths of objects in nature across a wide range of time and length scales. With better and less costly electronic sensors and computers, it became possible to track and analyze the motion of individual objects in order to learn about dynamic processes in nature. Some objects follow a straight course, while others meander around randomly, but something of the underlying process is often revealed and there are similarities at wildly different scales.
